He attended medical school at UMDNJ, now Rutgers Medical School and graduated in 1974. He later completed an internship at Maimonides Medical Center and completed his medical residency at New Jersey Medical School and neurology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, from 1976 to 1979.
He has had a private practice of neurology since 1979. Dr. Pellmar founded the Headache and Neurological Care Center of New Jersey
Dr. Pellmar has practiced in Monmouth County for more than 34 years. He's a Board Certified Neurologist
and has been so since 1980. He's a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology
and is Board Certified in Headache Medicine
since 2006. He is also Board Certified in Medical Acupuncture
Today, Dr. Pellmar continues to practice neurology with an emphasis on treating patients with headaches. He utilizes botulinum toxin for treatment of chronic migraines and has instructed other physicians on performing the procedure.
